Communication- I have tried to use Animoto but you are no longer able to use this without paying money unless you do the free 30 day trial. I was going to do the trial but the school year was almost over so I have decided to wait until next fall. Prezi- I have had several students use this website to organize the information that they have learned and then to present it to the class. I like how the students can use their own creativity within a structured format. It seems like there are a lot of options with this program.
Collaboration- Prezi- see above description. I like Google doc for collaboration because the kids can be all working on their own computer together working on the same project/presentation. Sometimes the kids do get a little frustrated though because someone in their group will delete their work or mess around with what they have done. Sometimes it works best to assign different parts of the project to different kids to complete.
Creativity- I had my students use Thinglink. It was fun and provided a different format for them to show others what they had learned. They liked being able to import video clips, music, and other images along with text. We also used PowToon which the kids seem to enjoy. They even added audio which was a big hit.
Critical Thinking- I want to try the Socrative site. It is free to use and looks like it would be a great way to have kids show what they have learned to others and to teach them information while being able to access their understanding immediately.
Organization- Google Drive sounds great though I still need to learn how to use it to its full potential. I am also intrigued by Delicious as a way to store bookmarked pages in an organized fashion. This year my bookmark got extremely long and cumbersome. I wonder how many other teachers use this site and if the sharing part would be of good use?
