Collaboration

Dale Landegent
Google drive, google doc, google sheets, google surveys have all played key roles in tech classes, professional collaboration, and parent communication. Our school tried a shared google calendar for awhile but it didn't take. Only lasted one year. Too many competing platforms for calendar.

We definitely use Google Apps in our technology class.  It helps them become literate with the technology that is used outside of school.  It can be great to have students submit assignments directly to you, but sometimes its just a lot coming into the email box.

I agree that Google drive is a huge benefit to students and teachers. They are able to use any of the traditional Microsoft office tools and have them all in a place that is accessible for teachers to see. The use of google classroom has been the most beneficial for keeping students organized. They can't say they can't find their homework anymore. It is always posted in the classroom. They can do their work on forms, docs, or sheets and turn in the assignment. This has made everyone's lives easier.
