Digital Literacy

Denise Wall
I have used Kahoot in my classroom to review for assessments. Students love competing against each other  which makes it a great review tool. Creating a Kahoot takes quite a bit of time especially in the area of math because of the limited number of characters and mathematical symbols. I've found it's easiest to add a picture containing the math problem.

I have had the same issue with Kahoot, so the advice about using a picture is helpful!

If you are using a picture and you have the image show up during the introductory part of the question, it gives the students a bit more time to look at the equation before the options for answers are posted for them to choose from.

I hadn't thought about some of the limitations of Kahoot! because of the use of symbols in equations.  As Kahoot! grows in popularity, I wonder if more adaptations will be made to make it more functional for a wide range of curricular areas.

My students love Kahoot. We used it a lot for Science review. We also used it for end of the year assessments as well.
