Great Tools for Students and Teacher Learning

Of each of the sections of resources, I have used each of these for either student or teacher learning.  Here are some examples of how we use each of these tools in our building:
Prezi is a great presentation tool for teachers and students.  Our students like it, probably mostly because it allows for a different presentation from PowerPoint.  Our students use it for current events reports.
Join.Me is a GREAT Assistive Tech tool.  We have now had two students with vision issues use Join.Me to allow the student to view the SmartBoard Presentation during class time.  Each time the student goes into a class, he or she gets the code from the teacher and uses their iPad for AT to log into Join.Me.  Then the student can clearly see what the teacher is presenting on the SmartBoard and can zoom in when needed.
Powtoon has been used in our building for both Professional Development as well as for creating presentations for parents to use.  We did our "Nuts and Bolts" PD with Powtoon and a follow up Google Docs form quiz.  We taught our parents how to use Schoology by creating a Powtoon and sending it out for them to watch.  
Kahoot is a Hoot!  One teacher used it as a "Get to Know Me" Quiz with parents during Back to School Night!
And, lastly, where would we be without Pinterest?  Our teachers share ideas and bookmark options within this on a regular basis.  They can then send a "Pin" to their team members so they can see it too!

I have used Prezi with students and they really like how easy it is to use. It helps them to remember ideas and organizes their presentations to present to the whole class.
I have also used Schoology for some projects and it is very beneficial to for students.  It is especially helpful for the student who is less organized.  Once they have their information gathered, they can keep it all on their computer and not forget where they put or say their dog ate it.

I am going to get on Pinterest to share ideas and resources that can help me in the math classroom.  There is a variety of ideas to use in the classroom.  Activities and variety is what students seem to look for.  They get bored easily.  I know I will be able to find useful math activities on Pinterest.

I use Prezi in my classroom for students to put together a collage about them self at the beginning of the year. It is easy to use and students can be so creative with it - lots of options are available. It's also something different than a basic power power point.

Regarding your comments on Powtoon... I have seen some really fun and engaging material presented in cartoon fashion.  This and other tools are wonderful for students and even adults to try and present their material.  I have even used cartoons for math.  Thanks for sharing.
