Kahoot

Michelle Mulfinger
I think that Kahoot will be a good resource to use when I want to see where the whole class is on a topic. I can come up with questions and if my students are doing well then I know I taught them well if not then I can try again. It will also help with pre-assessing my students. If they already know a lot about a topic I dont have to go over it in as much detail.

Kahoot is great.  It has numerous options to make it fit the needs of your class.  I've used it for review quite a bit in the past and the novelty of the competition works well for motivation.  Plus there are numerous "fun" pre-made kahoots available for use as icebreakers and team-builders.

I also often use Kahoot to do informal assessments or to mix things up in the classroom. Students always enjoy them and it helps to make learning more interactive and fun.

One thing I also really like about Kahoot are all of the other teacher created Kahoots that you can find, edit and bit and use!

I use Kahoot in my class to review our class read alouds. Kids love the friendly competition and it keeps them engaged. I am not familiar with Kahootawe. I will need to check this out.

I have found myself using Kahoot very often when it comes to quick, formative assessments. I also stumbled upon Quizalize which I plan to use for a similar purpose. The thing that I like about Kahoot is that students are familiar with it (i.e., there's no "I don't get it" when joining a game), and I have found many pre-made Kahoots that follow right along with my specific curriculum. All I need to do is copy it, and adjust the questions to my liking. I love the feature where you can choose to have students compete individually or with teams. Even better, it works with a presentation clicker, so I am free to move around the room!
