Kahoot!

Kahoot! Looks like it is a great resource to use in the math classroom. It can be a fun way to review before an assessment or just extra practice.  It could also be used to assess students’ knowledge.

My students love KAHOOT.  It is a great way to get all students involved in the classroom activities.  Plus they can "play" during their down time.

I just started to use Kahoot! and still learning some of the ways to use it. I have been using it as a before the lesson and after the lesson resource.  It works great to see what the kids know before the lesson is presented and then as an assessment at the end of the lesson to see if the kids understood.

Kahoot is used in my building a lot. Students really enjoy it. It is hard to tell if it is having a real impact on learning.

I haven't used Kahoot but it looks interesting and engaging.  I really like the idea of using it to gauge knowledge before a lesson and after.  I saw that there is a ghost feature where you can compete against your best score in a game, that would be an engaging way to help kids see how much they are learning. I also like the idea of students being able to practice on their own if I need to work with just some of the students on something.

I guess maybe I'm the only one who *HATES* kahoot.  I've never had or seen students do anything with it that was remotely good or better than what they could do with, say, google slides.

Plus, there seem to be 'hacking' programs that let other students disrupt the presentations.

Were I ever to use this again, I feel like I would have to be pretty explicit about what constitutes a 'good' presentation and do that teaching, because it seems to me that students tend to think, 'oh, it's a kahoot and everybody loves kahoot,' and leave it at that w/o trying to make the presentation itself very good.

Quizletlive is similar to Kahoot, I like Quizletlive because once the kids sign in, the program will put them into random groups. Then the kids all have to collaborate because the answer is only on one ipad.

I agree, Amy!  As a special education teacher, I love Kahoot because it is fun, easy to use and a great formative assessment to see what students have learned.

I agree it is useful for extra practice.  The lessons that support the IA standards are best to start with then go to the practice with Kahoot.  My students need extra practice and review so it is helpful for this purpose.
