I have used Google Drive with helping students as a SPED teacher associate.  Since coming back from the pandemic, the teachers continued to use Google Drive, especially Google Classroom.  The way I would use it, and so did many of the teachers, is a way to provide students with additions tools and resources.  In one class, the teacher provided a video in Classroom that the students could access at various times of as often as they wanted.  This would be better than just showing the video once during a specific class time.  Some teachers expected students who were absent to access the assignments missed and have them completed when the student returned from their absence.

My school uses Google Classroom, so all of the tools in the Google Suite are there and fully intergrated to everything the students do.  It is easy to create shared documents, turn them in, edit when appropriate, and review work.  Since all the kids have a school account, it is easy for them to separate their personal content and school to make sure everything is school appropriate.

Drive is great to use. Teaching kids how to organize that is a skill that they can use. Most of my students' stuff is either "untitled document" or "copy of..." and then they wonder why they can never find anything.

Using Google Drive with all the tools in Google Suite is a great way for kids to organize their work, so they can find it again. Also Google Classroom is great for kids who are absent or need to review assignments or rewatch videos.
