Shared Resource - S Borrenpohl

In my role as a substitute teacher, I look for opportunity to use Kahoot in the classroom.  I find it an actively engaging resource that is especially useful to review material that has been previously covered and to discover gaps in learning.  I prefer to actively moderate a round of Kahoot with discussion after each question; for example, I will ask a student to explain why an answer is the correct one.  Or on a question that many students scored incorrectly, it is a good opportunity to clarify understanding or offer a reteaching.

Students really seem to enjoy using Kahoot.  (Maybe it's just because it's an excuse to be on their phones.) I enjoy "playing" along. It really helps with reviewing before an assessment. I like the idea of explaining correct answers as the game progresses.

I love Kahoot style games for review (flashcards) and assessments. Kahoot recently had to up it's game because so many copycat sites like (Blooket) has made the gaming aspect funner. Blooket offers several styles of games, but using the same questions or flashcards. So they've built in variety. GimKit is another Kahoot style game with a variety of styles for the same questions.
